Samantha Galimba

Deputy Public Defender, she/her

Galimba was a K-JD kid, meaning she forever worked towards a career in law, from kindergarten straight through law school. She attended the University of Nevada, Reno, majoring in Criminal Justice with a specialization in law and justice, and graduated in three years. She then went to Willamette University College of Law, finishing in two and a half years. 

Throughout these years, she interned at the Reno Justice Court’s protective office and as an intern for Reno Justice Court. Galimba was also the student liaison for OAPABA, involved in student leadership for APALSA, and was one of the executive editors for Law Review and the Social Justice and Equity Law Journal. She also placed second in the law school’s Don Turner Moot Court competition. Lastly, she has externed at Ristenpart Law, a solo criminal defense practice in Reno, NV, externed for Justice Flynn of the Oregon Supreme Court, and worked as a clerk and attorney for Ghiorso Law Office before beginning at PDMC. 

Galimba is passionate about public defense, having always felt drawn to this field of work. She strived for it for as long as she can remember and thinks that there are a lot of injustices in the world, and the criminal justice system needs a lot of reform. In her free time, Galimba enjoys cooking, baking, hiking, exploring, and watching cooking shows.
