Elizabeth Dimits

Deputy Public Defender, she/her/hers

Elizabeth completed her first two years of undergrad at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas studying social work, before transferring to San Francisco State University where she graduated with a BA in Psychology. She then went to Lewis & Clark Law School receiving her JD and also a certificate in Criminal Law & Justice.

Elizabeth spent a year interning for Project Rebound, worked as a case manager for a domestic violence shelter, and as a legal assistant for Beeson Skinner Beverly, LLP. She has also worked as a law clerk for the Federal Public Defender, District of Oregon, as a recovery coach at Clementine Monte Nido, and interned for the Lewis & Clark Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic, as well as being a certified law student at Multnomah Defenders, Inc.

Elizabeth believes that everyone is more than their worst days, or what’s going on in a police report, and that every client deserves someone to protect their interests and advocate for their rights. She wants to be that person for people who otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford it. She wants to do all she can to circumvent the carceral system and minimize people’s interaction with jails and prisons

Elizabeth is from Livermore, California (in the East Bay Area) but fully fell in love with Oregon when she came here for law school and so plans to stay here indefinitely.
