Nicolle Rhim
Public Defender, she/her
Nicolle is a Southern California native who grew up in Anaheim, CA. She left the nest in search of a liberal arts education and landed in Iowa where she graduated from Grinnell College with a major in English. Nicolle received the Law Opportunity Fellowship (LOF) at the University of Iowa College of Law where she interned at several social justice nonprofits and was a member of the Journal of Gender, Race, and Justice. She graduated in 2019 and moved back to California to represent California’s farm workers. She also staffed California Rural Legal Assistance, Inc.’s COVID-19 worker’s rights hotline where she provided legal aid and counsel to low-wage workers facing employment discrimination during the COVID-19 crisis.
Nicolle then turned her focus to representing children in dependency matters and spent four years as a court appointed attorney and CAPTA Guardian ad Litem (GAL) in Los Angeles County at Children’s Law Center. Recently, she set her sights to Oregon after her family moved out here. She found her way to public defense through her continued desire to stand alongside our most vulnerable communities and is excited to be a member of PDMC’s experienced and enthusiastic advocates.
When she’s not working, you can find Nicolle in her kitchen - baking, cooking, and eating!
