she/her

Beatty is originally from the Northern Kentucky and Southern Ohio region, but now calls Oregon home. She studied Business and Leadership at Cottey College and earned her J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law. Her path into law has always been rooted in a desire to help people solve problems and make their lives better.

She has worked as landlord-tenant counsel, representing both tenants and landlords in eviction, housing, and small claims cases. Her experience also includes work in real estate law, title, realtor work, construction, and property management. She has been an extern for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court and contributed to Mortar, a nonprofit focused on supporting Black-owned small businesses in Cincinnati.

Beatty is drawn to public defense because she believes in showing up for people with honesty, care, and unflinching advocacy especially during their most difficult moments. She thrives in spaces that bring people together across differences and believes in storytelling as a form of connection and dignity.

Outside of legal work, Beatty is an avid distance runner and rock climber and running and climbing coach. She also enjoys volunteering at races and watching track races and climbing comps, writing poetry, watching Star Trek and analysing the Hunger Games. She believes in movement as medicine and helping shape narratives of her own and others’ in ways that build community and spark understanding.
